"I have to agree with previous reviewers regarding the smell, it is a VERY strong lavender smell and not a mango smell as advertised. My hair was definitely nice and shiny and manageable after using but a major concern for me was the amount of oil in the product. My face broke out terribly after using!"

"I always use JASON Natural Salon Hair Care series, but I decided to give Avalon a shot.
Here are my two cents.
Pros.
1) Good value - Jason costs alot more.
2) Nice texture - It is just right.
3) Moisture - My hair is a long and very dried brunette. It helps my hair hold more moisture. Good.
Cons.
1) Smell - It has a strong lavender smell which I & my husband are not a big fan of. He said, "Your hair smells a bit funny." when I used this shampoo for the first time. I wish it were more fruity smell.
2) Bottle - This shampoo and conditioner are in the EXACTLY same bottle/color. It is very hard to tell which one is which especially in a shower. I made mistakes three times already. Grrr.
Overall, it is a good shampoo, but I will not buy it again. This smell is not for us!"

"I love this shampoo! It delivers. I have noticed it seems to work better if left on a bit like the conditioner. The shine and manageability are great. If you use this product you do want to purchase the conditioner with it. I found a different conditioner combination did not yield the same results. I have colored, natural wavy hair and this is a very nourishing product. 100% satisfied."

"This shampoo cleans very nicely and doesn't irritate my scalp or makes it itch as most other shampoos do (I have normal to dry scalp and hair.) It leaves a nice, almost conditioning coat on your hair after washing. I have to agree on the smell though with one of the previous reviewers. It smells weired. I still give it 5 stars, because other than that it's great and it's the only shampoo that works for me. I'll buy it again."

"I have dry coarse hair and this shampoo along with the conditioner really made my hair soft after the first use! It smells awful though, which is surprising since it's got awapuhi and mango...but oh well. I will buy it again."
