"Compared to the citracal name brand, the pills are half the size and 100 mgs. less per tablet. Not a bad trade since I had a hard time with the bigger pills and wouldn't take them regularly. These go down easily."

"Only in reading the small print is it evident that one has to swallow 4 of these horse sized pills to get 1000mg! This label says 1000mg- that usual means each pill delivers 1000mg, NOT that one must take 4 to equal 1000mg."

"I read all the reviews about these tablets being excessively large and thought they couldn't be serious. I knew I could handle large pills and even multiple pills in one swallow. Well, believe what you read. You will gag trying to down these. They are ridiculously large - there is no reason to do this to yourself. They also chip easily so you are often swallowing pills with broken edges. And to subject yourself to it 4 times a day to get the daily dose: ridiculous! I am back to searching for a calcium-only pill, which is their only advantage."

"NSI Calcium Citrate may be fairly inexpensive, but for my adult throat they are like horse pills. The surface is completely uncoated, and although the tablets are torpedo-shaped, they are large and rough. The only way I can swallow them is with a fairly large mouthful of already well-chewed food."

"These supplements are large. Try taking liquid fish oil (or any other beneficial high quality oil) to lubricate your throat and then you will have no problems swallowing these large tablets. They are of fairly good quality and are low priced so they are worth a try."

"These pills are too large and very hard to swallow. They start to disolve if you do get them swallowed right away. You have to take 4 pills to get the 1000 mg dose. I can barely get 1 pill down."

"This product would be great if the pills were easier to swallow. I am taking other supplements that are larger in size, and are by far, easier to swallow. I have tried cutting them in half and in thirds, and it was still difficult to swallow. I have to actually chew them, then wash it down with water. I will not purchase them again. I am lookin for a calcium citrate complex with vitamin D3, magnesium, potassium, and phosphorus that is easy to swallow."
