Flax oil is a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are 'essential fatty acids' (EFA's)-meaning they're essential for human growth and development, but not naturally produced by the body. EFA's are important for the production of prostaglandins, which are hormone-like transmitters that help enhance inflammatory response, hormones, as well as the cardiovascular system. Flax oil is taken from the seeds of the flax plant. It contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), which is the precursor fatty acid for the omega-3 series. In order for the body to use ALA, it must be converted into EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), two nutrients that are constituents in many cells. "Use this for the oil portion in your homemade salad dressing... 1 part organic flax seed oil, one part apple cider vinegar and 1 part balsamic or another vinegar of your choice. Add lots of basil and oregano and other seasonings that you like and keep a bottle of it in your fridge. Best Ever. Super Healthy!"

"This is a great quality flax seed oil and I have purchased it twice now. I am reconsidering buying it again though, because after finishing the first bottle, it still felt heavy, but nothing would come out. I cut the bottle open and discovered the bottom 1/4 to 1/3 was full of crushed flaxmeal. I don't know why this would be? And how can it then be labeled "16 fluid oz."? It seemed like a great deal for the price, but now I'm not so sure, and will look into other brands. Can anyone tell me if this is always how flax seed oil is bottled...with the meal included?"

"the taste is a little bitter, but if it's mixed with something (such as salad dressing or a bit of low-sodium veggie juice) it's highly tolerable. i mix it with all of my salad dressings, and use considerably less dressing now. the taste doesn't bother me, as i've become used to it, but i bought this for my husband and he won't touch it. i slip it into recipes though, and he doesn't notice. =) does not cook well, since all of the beneficial things can't withstand cooking temperatures, but i do put it on things already cooked; steamed veggies, spaghetti/pasta salads, garden salads, deviled eggs (i mixed it in with the yolk mix...it was delicious). i like this stuff."

"I love Flax!! It is the best thing I have ever done for myself. It's amazing, my hair is shinier, I feel so much better, I even notice that my PMS symptoms have really lessened ALOT...I didn't even really have cramps the past 2 months, since I started taking it. (They used to be really horrible, so that is why I am so THRILLED I found this stuff...) My skin is more glowy, as well. It may be because of a few other supplements I have been taking, but I know this stuff is truly amazing. The taste really is not good at all, but I've gotten used to it...it's SO worth the benefits to your health and well being....I think it has enhanced my moods! I am way better moods...Try it!!! "I Started mixing “cold pressed” (non-processed) oils with my meals about a year ago. "Raw" oils are a great way to get the vitamins and antioxidants you need without taking synthetic products containing preservatives. The NSI Flax Oil is high is lignans which is a natural part of the flax seed. The benefits are too many to list. “Google” flax seed oil and lignan to research."

"i have purchased many different brands of Flaxseed oil and this is the only "High Ligan" that I have come accross. I used all of the first bottle before I read the small print on back of bottle that said shake well. This is there since they get the high ligan by puting ground flax seed in there. It settles to the bottom and is very hard to get into solution. I wrote NSI and suggested that they put the shake well on the front in the same size as the high ligan. I get all the ligans I need from ground flaxsee that I grind myself. I wont be buying any more of this product."
