"Compared to other chewable/liquid calcium citrate, this product taste the best. Although the texture is very gritty when chewed, the orange flavor makes it tolerable. You have to chew four tablets daily to get the RDA but I think that is about the same with all chewable calcium citrate."

"NSI Calcium Citrate -- 120 Chewable Tablets are very chalky and gritty therefore only barely palatable. The flavor is so-so. I wish I had a better alternative but as the Citracal Chews were taken off the market recently I have yet had time to locate a more palatable form of chewable calcium citrate which is the only form of calcium I, as a bariatric surgery patient, am supposed to take."

"I read that chewable calcium stops heartburn. I had bad heartburn and wanted to get off heartburn medicine for it causes bone thinning. I started taking the chewable calcium and can't believe that I don't get heartburn anymore and I am also getting my much needed calcium. All this at a great price."

"Product provides ample calcium for nutritionally challenged people. This product is perfect for gastric bypass patients. However, the packaging used to include cotton in the bottle to avoid movement. Now, during shipping, the tablets have a tendency to get broken."

"Like other northerners, I discovered that I was Vitamin D deficient.
In working through the metabolic pathway correction that I'm taking, it has been a problem finding 1000 mg of Calcium that wasn't a painful chore to swallow.
These chewable tablets from NSI/Vitacost are easy, and not offensive at all, not unlike chewing a few Extra Strength Tums.
The fact that they add Magnesium is a plus.
The only downside is having to balance my other sources of Vitamin D3."

"Yuck! I ordered these and the Twinlabs versions at the same time because these are a little cheaper and I figured I'd try them both. "A little gritty" doesn't begin to describe. They were like chewing sand!! Flavor isn't horrible, but as soon as you chew them you have a mouth full of hard white granuals. Go for the Twinlabs!!"

"I find this chewable to be chalky and gritty. It used to be more palatable but was reformulated a year or two ago. It is now more gritty and dry, faster to crumble, and the flavor is not pleasing. If you must have a chewable calcium citrate tablet, there are not many options; I have recently discovered Rainbow Light Calcium Citrate Multi-Mins, which taste much better to me than the NSI Calcium Citrate chewables."

"The taste isn't bad, but once chewed the texture of beach sand isn't so great. Since it's one of the few chewable citrates on the market I'll deal with it for now."

"I have to take chewable calcium everyday and it was suggested by my doctor to take citrate because it is absorbed better. I got these and they taste really really bad. Also, they are gigantic( about the size of a quarter) and a serving isn't just one- it's FOUR! It's nearly impossible to choke that many down. They are very chalky and taste terrible."

"The formulation of these has changed. I used to really like the small, vanilla-flavored disks. They are now much larger, more crumbly, and have a flavor of ???

"I buy my calcium carbonate chewables here because they're one of the only places to get them. I used to dislike the chalky taste but it has grown on me over time.
I've been very disappointed with my purchases because a good portion of the tablets come broken in the bottle even with cotton stuffed in them.
I just bought a new batch very recently, and so far, there is much more cotton packing and the tablets on top are in one piece."
