"i scratched my arm deeply a few years ago and over time the arm developed a soreness in the muscles. i started Yaeyama chlorella (vulgaris) on Sept 5 2008, and now my arm is 90-95% pain free. that's only about 3 months it took to mostly resolve this issue. my arm was getting more and more sore until i got on the chlorella, and a gradual decrease in pain started more or less immediately after starting chlorella. i take 2 level teaspoons chlorella in an ounce or so of water after each meal for 3 meals per day, so that is 6 level teaspoons chlorella per day total. i am just about finished with my first kilo of this chlorella, and had taken about a pound of another Yaeyama brand before this, so i have taken about 3 lbs of Yaeyama chlorella vulgaris total to reach this point of healing. i have to say this was one of the most concerning health problems i have ever had, but chlorella was and continues to be up to the task. i also look at chlorella as a supplement that covers a lot of bases, so that i don't have to take a lot of other supplements. i tried but did not particularly like the overall effect of another brand's chlorella pyrendosa, which is not Yaeyama chlorella vulgaris. i have also found that chlorella is also great for regularity and improves my concentration and brain function noticeably, as well as energy level."

"this was the first chlorella i purchased and then i bought the source naturals bulk powder. i first off didnt notice anything with it. and when i tried the source naturals it made me think that this brand here is heated so the organisms are dead. you can somewhat taste it but dont just take my word for it. give it a try in a smaller amount. the amount you receive for price brings some concern to light too. the source naturals taste is better too. hard to describe. hope this helps!"

"Having read that chlorella can have beneficial effects for fibromyalgia, I purchased this product. Unfortunately, I am unable to tolerate it and have experienced nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Having searched on the Internet, I found that other people had similar experiences. I would not recommend buying such a large amount unless you are sure that this supplement agrees with your system."

"This product has to be mixed as a fruit smoothie so that it will blend nicely. Tastes good when blended with banana and orange juice in a blender. I also add about 10 grams of Spirulina. Great price, shipping is slow."

"This product is amazing, considering that it comes from some remote high mountain lake in Japan, because it is free from any agriculture or industrial pollution. "First off, Vitacost did a great job with shipping and handling. Now the product. It tastes a whole lot better than Spirulina, but that's not saying much. It's not meant to be a tasty snack. "My research showed chlorella to be one of the best superfoods so I put 2 level teaspoons in my banana smoothie every day. My health has improved and I have much more energy than before I started taking chlorella. The vitacost price for kilo jars is a bargain. It keeps well without refrigeration. It does have a very green taste like liguified green vegetables but I have learned to like it because it is doing me so much good that I look forward to my green smoothie everyday. The banana or other fruit makes it much more palatable because it tastes a little like swamp water without some fruit."

"I'd been taking a different brand of chlorella (Green Gem) and loved the way it tasted and made me feel. I found this product here and since Yaeyama is supposedly a good brand and this is a great price that I would try it. As soon as I tasted it, however, I couldn't continue taking it. It tasted fishy and skanky and salty. Vitacost kindly let me return the product. Hopefully I just got a bad batch and it normally doesn't taste as bad as mine did. But just so you know - chlorella doesn't have to taste fishy!"

"I cannot find a way to get this to dissolve in liquid. I've tried water and several juices even used a blender but to no avail. It either floats on the top or sticks to the botttom.
Haven't used it long enough to speak to quality or effectiveness. I'll keep trying and hopefully be able to evaluate those later."
