Jarrow Formulas Inositol Powder -- 227 g (8 oz)

Promotes liver function and cellular detoxification. Inositol is the common name for myoinositol. Inositol is readily absorbed and used to produce the active inositides as necessary. The various forms of inositol (phosphatidylinositol and inositides such as IP3) are active in cell-to-cell communication, including the transmission of nerve impulses. Tissues that are affected include the brain, liver and muscles. Inositol is an indirect source of glucose and glucoronic acid, which is essential to detoxification by the liver. This product is derived from rice and is made in Japan by Tsuno Rice Company.

"I highly recommend this for anyone who has anxiety or OCD. It gives a relaxing feeling! I take it in doses of 1 to 2 tsp in morning and the same at night mixed with water with meal. 5 stars all the way!"

"the effects of inositol on the body has always been a subtle affect. not a stimulant by any means, inositol acts as an important catalyst to the body in the following areas of importance:

insulin signal transduction
cytoskeleton assembly
nerve guidance
intracellular calcium (Ca2+) concentration control
cell membrane potential maintenance
serotonin activity modulation
breakdown of fats and reducing blood cholesterol
gene expression

while some of these functions might seem a bit over the head of understand - keep in mind that the human body does not function on the so-called 'trends' of dieting but represents a very powerful and ongoing summation of infinite biological functions that all contribute to the highest levels of health and life given to anyone's particular biology. without the functions cited in this review of inositol - life and health both become seriously compromised and threatened. my suggestion would be to take inositol daily, using at least half a table spoon two to three times daily."

"My entire family takes Inositol and it is very expensive in the stores. Vitacost prices are the only way our family can afford to take it daily. My kids love the taste and will eat it by the spoonful! I like the way it just dissolves in anything I wish to mix it with. Helps incredibly for moods."
