"Avalon Clarifying shampoo is very effective for removing styling build up from the hair such as too much conditioner, hairspray build-up, etc. It really cleans the hair without leaving it dried out. "After only two uses of this product, my hair became straw like. I was telling my mother, who is a hair stylist, and she told me that lemon is used for only extra oily hair and that lemon is also used to lighten hair. Only after two uses, my hair did become lighter. It is just not what I expected after reading about this product and other reviews. I would only recommend this product if you have EXTRA oily hair, but I still would not use this as an everyday shampoo."

"First thing you'll notice with this shampoo (and it's conditioner too) is the powerful lemony-fresh smell. It's amazing; you'll think you're washing your hair with actual lemons (and, you are in a way, because they use the citrus peel in their ingredients). However, like other customers have stated previously, this product does strip your hair of essential oils and leaves it so dry! You'll definitely need the conditioner to back it up. And, even with the conditioner, you're hair may not get as soft as it used to be. This is a good shampoo to do the job of cleaning your hair, but you need to use a lot of it just to get a good lather! And, it's not completely all-natural. I'll try a different brand of shampoo next time, but will continue to use the conditioner."

"Ive used Burts Bees natural shampoos and also Alba's but this one is the best one so far. It does NOT leave your hair feeling like straw after rinsing like most natural shampoos do. Works like those regular chemical shampoos but with a soft lemon scent and without all the bad chems!! Use a good conditioner like Giovannis reconstructive conditioner. They work great together. Good aromatherapy in the shower!"

"I decided to try this on a whim, as I'm generally a Giovanni advocate, and I'm very happy with it. It's inexpensive and thoroughly cleanses the hair without stripping or overdrying. It smells delicious, a nice tart lemony, slightly herbal fragrance. I like it so much I use it as a body wash as well as a shampoo. I only wish Vitacost had a matching conditioner. :)"

"I went to Nahua ,NH for 10 days ..I went to the store and bought this Avalon Organics lemon shampoo&conditioner....it was the best shampoo and conditioner I have ever tried ....now I am out of it and I just want to cry ..they do not sell the shampoo here ...I would love to market this product here..because ..I know once you try this you will be a life long customer ..it makes your hair soft as silk with no build up and it is light weight ...your hair is soft and silky like a babies hair ..no build up no greasyness...and yes you can use it everyday and everyday you have the same effect..its not like salon products where it looks good for a week then your hair is so built up with junk your hair looks bad ..its looks as good as the first day to a month later..using the product everyday..."
